Stripers yet?
« on: April 05, 2008, 03:57:10 PM »
Got the boat in the water and am DYING to get out chasing em again....

You guys taught me a lot in the fall, and we had some success. (Thank you very much for that!)

I have read all the posts on winter flounder fishing, and we've tried that, no luck yet. I even saw the Angela Rose by the Metedeconk Bridge, so I know I was in a good spot, but good spot doesn't make up for skill. I'm paying my dues.

I look forward to another great year....

Ross

if you noticed the Angela Rose was fishing the dropoff's of the channel.

The other boats that are in that area are doing the same.

You might want to check out the area from the channel and the fishing pier plus the channel that leads to the marina on the south west side of the bridge.  The guys on the pier yesterday were catching decent fish there Winter Flounder 15"s.  Not to bad.

As fare as stripers nothing yet, sorry.

Paul

Boss - If I learned anything from Capt. Anthony when I was out with him, it's the fact that using your own chum in addition to the logs is what works.  Now, we're not going to find out Capt. Ant's secret chum recipe any time soon ( TT^), but I think if we throw our own in addition to the frozen logs it will make a difference when the fish are anemic.  I know I'll be trying that out the best I can when my boat gets in the water.

I have read a number of posts about making your own chum concoction. So far I've only used the logs. I'm going out on Tues with some buddies, I'll try it then.

I saw the Angela Rose the week before last...on Tuesday. Kids were off from school, so my son and I tried for flounders. Our first time for that.

We had a great time on the water in our new boat, but no fish.
