Firts trip in the new boat 4/19
« on: April 20, 2008, 09:55:04 AM »
Took the boat out for the firt time yesterday. Got to Leonardo, paid ramp fee, prepared boat for launch, and NO F---ing key! Not on the boat, not in the truck, gone! So, off to find a local Yamaha dealer to get a new key and to hopefully save the day. Went to Gateway Marina in Highlands and got another one (2 actually). Lucky my wife remembered the key code that I wrote down on the message board at home when I was supposed to go get extra keys last month. Returned to Leonardo and wound up with 4 Flounder in the box, tried some shallower, warmer water down by Union Beach for some stripes, but none were found. Learned how the new boat handles, played with the gagets, and enjoyed a few hours on the water with my wife. <'((((><
I've spent most of my life fishing, the rest I've just wasted     <'((((><

when I was younger, I had a 17'er.. I took a friend of mine fishing with me and he offered to clean the boat.. It was on a trailer at the time, no slip yet.  As he was cleaning it he pulled the plug and laid it in the transom.  Since I was the one who normally cleans it, I know that I did from the last trip.. this particular time I didn't...

One day I met another friend of mine, launched the boat and started on our way..  I'm driving and my friend said that there is water filling up the back.  I said not to worry, its only the bucket with killies spilling over.. Boy was I wrong...  High tailed it back to the ramp just in time...

I have 5 keys for mine. 1 is the main which I normally use. 1 is on my regular/car house key keychain. 3rd I keep on my fathers boat 5mn away locked in the cabin jut in case he has to get on boat and move it for some reason or I forget 1st 2 keys. Other 1 is at house. Think I will keep the 5th key in wife's car.

Too bad I don't have spare to wife's car, right Young Gull?

@ 3.75 a pop, spare boat keys are worth it to load up on so you ever miss a trip :)

Good day and nice save. TT^
A good day of fishing is better than a bad day of fishing. A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work. That means work sucks!
