Registration Stickers
« on: April 17, 2008, 12:39:21 PM »
Anyone have any tricks on how to get old Registration stickers off the hull. I just bought a 2005 Trophy up in NY and wanted to get the NY sticker off before I put the NJ one on. Any Tricks?

I've used GOOF OFF in the past for stickers on FG , try on a hidden area first just to be sure-or mask sticker to be safe--covering up anyway.

I use a hair dryer to heat it first, then they peal right off.  I usually overlap them first for a few years, then remove them all and start over.

I would go with the heat as well. If you do attempt to use Goof Off, make sure it's Goof Off 2, which is safe for use on plastics. Original Goof Off is strong stuff & might cause gel coat problems. <'((((><

Goof off 2 correct-- should've been more specific.

Dishwashing liquid or windex will help loosen up the adhesive too. I'm not sure if wd-40 or gasoline is safe to use on fiberglass but it will loosen up the adhesive the best. ;)

Thanks for all the feedback...Heat worked the best with a degreaser to take the extra adhesive off. Thanks again.
