4/30 Raritan Bay Report
« on: May 01, 2008, 01:50:49 PM »

Set out at 0900 with Reel Ron, Capt's fault for late start due to working OT the night before.

Wind was blwing a bit but not bad......headed to the western half of bay.....machine lit up with marks off Port Monmouth, made drifts but nothing......headed further up the bay to some more great reads, anchored up and started chunking, some swing and misses, a skate then nodda.....by now the wind that NOAA missed started kicking, had wind against incoming tide.... made a couple more moves on some great reads but nothing......now the wind was howling, 3 ft chop in the bay and bad fishing conditions with the wind against......called it early at 1 PM.......a tad sporty coming back witht he following seas for the first half the ride then getting slammed in the side the second half........ nosmly nosmly

Spoke to a few who made it out real early and that was when the bite was....shared some water with Lucky Carm, real gentleman, great guy and good friend.......... chrz

Nice report CaptBob. You have to quit that other job so you can get on the water earlier.  TT^

Nice try Capt. Bob, Averaging about 50/50 so far this year that is not bad.  The way I look at it this year has started better than last year and it can only get better from here.

Happy Catching
