Old Orchard Area and beyond.....

Fished with Charlie from East Coast Nets. Netted bunker first thing and had a nice morning on the water. Caught and released 3 nice bass and more blues than a man could want...  Seems like there are alot of stripers around, but the blues are hitting the baits b4 they even get to the bottom half of the water column. Heading out again tomorrow and/or Saturday. Sorry---forgot the camera 2day...

That area is pretty shallow. Are you drifting chunks or livelining? I was by there last night but couldn't get any marks so I moved out towards the channel.  It seemed like drifting, I wasn't getting much under the boat but when I moved around there were marks all over. Maybe I should have trolled? 5hrug   Thanks.

I'm sorry :-\. It's shallow for me though. I'm used to 25+.  Thats why I asked how that area is fished. I will be in the bay fishing for a few more weeks yet.

Unless you are in the channels, most of the bay is <30'.

Live line or chunks on the bottom.

Mostly anchored up but some drifting. The depth to the NJ side is probably 24-32 feet average. Close to the house it is shallower, bot then again on the VZ side it gives alittle depth.

There is actually a dredge sample site that I found last year that goes to 36. That is my honey hole----it seemed to fill in this year, but still enough of a break top hold linesides. Otherwise, they are just cruising the shoal....

If you fish the ocean there are several dredge holes off the Highlands Bridge area. Sweet spot for bass and fluke.  t^

I may have been looking at the wrong area, I thought that area was all in the teens on my gps. I will recheck it out....Sorry for the confussion.
