sump box opinions please
« on: May 29, 2008, 06:18:28 PM »
Here is a rough in of my bilge sump box. The 2 fish boxes go in the front end as well as the pump out. port side with the valve is for the live well to drain. Just under that which is hard to see is the l-thru hull which will act as a drain out thru the transome for when boat is stored and also will tee off to the macarator pump. I need only drill a new thru hull in the transome as low as the garboard drain for the storage draining. The excisting one is not low enough. And the box cannot be raised or the livewell drain will not work right.

please give me some feed back and let me know any problems you may foresee.   I don't want to do this again. This is my second attempt at a good system.

And don't make fun of my box. It was my first attemt at molds and glass work. I will grind and clean it up and then paint it all after I'm done with the rough in.  Thanks.

Very nice! What size pump will go in the box?

I have a 500 in there. I could do a 750 with out changing anything but I dont really think that I will have that much water at one time.....If so  it will go into the bilge for the regular pumps...........thanks for the replies ;D

Right on t^

Does the pump have a sponge or screen to filter any spit up bait or scales from the fishbox or is the pump equiped for that?

It has a screen but I also have the macerator pump hooked up so I can pull that junk out everyonce in a while instead of getting in there with a vac.
