I haven't seen one in use, but you can buy nets with the ring already built into it. Don't know if they work or not. Here is a link for the one already built in.

My small peanut bunker net 8' has the metal ring built in......works great especially when you are alone...... TT^

My big 10' Bunker net is thrown the old fashion way t^

The Fitec Super Spreader cast nets have the ring in and they work well in the smaller sizes.  But with practice you can throw the small one just as well and quicker without it.  For bigger nets especially well made nets like the Calusa this would be a waste.

I sell all types of the Fitec nets and they open easily and re very reasonable priced.
