Left dock in Keyport around 10:40pm with 2 friends aboard with clams and fresh Bunker. Headed out to the 11A buoy off of Union beach and anchored. Wind was strong from the north and it was raining with rough seas. Water temp was 57 deg. High tide was around midnight.
We immediately hooked up with 2 blues and a keeper Striped bass. Then thing slowed down for a while with just blues.
We pulled anchor and head over to the the Raritan channel by Staten Island in 35 feet of water. We dropped anchor and had a slow pick of blues and a Skate.
After a while we trolled back to buoy 11a with stretch 25's and a light green bunker spoon. after a few passes circling 11a we picked up a second keeper Striper on the Bunker spoon and a couple of blues on the Stretch 25. We marked plenty of fish on the sounder.
We got back to the dock around 6:40am. we had a nice time and the bay became very peacefull around 2 am..
