Some Unmagic Hour Fishing 5/10
« on: May 11, 2008, 10:30:32 AM »
Even though the weather was far better than predicted the fishing wad down right horrible.

Jason & I were 2 of only a total of 13 fares aboard the Capt. John last night. Had good conditions the first part of the trip as we had west wind with the last of the outgoing tide.

Started off in bay with a small group of boats included a few other party boats. Ended the trip off of Port Monmouth also with a few other party boats. I'm sure it was a tough night all around as the party boat fleet was constantly moving.

Total for the boat was 3 bluefish and 2 stripers (1 of those being a short). Jason was the one who had the short bass. He also lost a big demon boatside (that's not counted in the boat total). I had just one tap all night.

Doc

2 guys from work were on that trip they also didn't get a good shot at a fish, The wind picked up later in the day we were out early and had a nice steady bite for 2 hours then it died. That son of yours if a fishing machine!

I was going to swing by the boat and pick up the hat but it didn't look like anyone was there.

I assume that Capt Carm has a hat for you or Jason?I have been running the April Ann so things have been busy which is good. I will ask him about the hat.

I got a PM on the other site saying from either you or Capt. Carm saying they were holding a hat for Jason.
