Beach Erosion At Ortley Beach
« on: May 14, 2008, 11:21:30 PM »
This type of erosion is typical up and down the Jersey shore.  The pictures do not show the exact amount of sand lost but I hope you can get an idea that this last storm was a major Nor'easter.  With Memorial Day approaching fast the beaches will be quite a bit narrower than many vacationers are use to.

Plus many businesses are now in clean up mode as case be seen by the amount of damage to Joey Harrison's Surf Club.

The first pictures are at low tide and the second are at high tide.

It will take the beaches a while to bounce back but Mother Nature will balance things out in her way and in her time.  No matter how much we try to helper her along she will do things her way.

Happy Catching

Paul
