Need some help
« on: May 16, 2008, 08:34:40 AM »
I supposed to take two kids out tomorrow 5/17 for some bass and blues. Looks like the wind is going to be blowing pretty good. I would like to try, but don’t know how they are going to do. Going out of AH in the am, any thoughts about the rivers? I have never fished the rivers, so if anyone could give me some input I would appreciate it. I don't care what we fish for, just want the kids to hook up.
Thanks
Rick

I would consider rescheduling if taking 2 kids out.

If NOAA is right 9slim chance tho), it won't be too nice, especially coming out of AH.

If you are staying in the rivers I would try by the bridges. Blues and stripers like hanging by the Highlands bridge. Don't know if the construction will hinder your ability to fish there or not.

I'm sure CaptBob would have some good info for you. Either PM him or wait for him to answer up here.

Rick, are you docked in AH or launching there via ramp?

If launching, I would consider launching in Sewaren and fishing back in the river/triangle area as land will give you some good protection with the NW or SW winds they are predicting.

Mike,
I am launching at AH. I don't know the Sewaren area, will have to check it out.
Thanks

I wouldn't launch in AH tomorrow with W winds predicted.

I know MikeyNNj launches out of Sewaren, so maybe he can provide some insight.

Could also launch from Keyport & fish the Keyport/Keansburg flats area.
