Afew Blues squan inlet 5/18
« on: May 18, 2008, 09:10:09 PM »
Despite the sketchy weather forecasted for Sunday afternoon, Capt. decided to pull the Pounder 2 out for afew hours bluefishing in the Manasquan River.  Fished around the mouth of the canal, found blues working spearing across the surface in the rain.  Caught fish on both Krocs and Knuckle head poppers. I decided toe try my hand at some weakfish because of the presence of bait in the area, but my eforts with a pink Fin-S produced only bluefish.

I wish my area was experiancing the same phenomenal bluefish and bass action that the Raritain Bay area is. Hopefully next weekend will be good.

BTW, saw a guy pull in about a 30" Bass on bait in the surf on my run in the morning.

Good luck

Nice report. The fish will be our way shortly
(I'm in Shark River, only a stone throw from the Squan). Then it will be hold onto your hat time.   TT^
