Late 5/24 report
« on: May 26, 2008, 11:16:36 AM »
Headed out of Keyport early and made a b-line over to Great Kills for some bunkies. Got our fair share and then hit the grounds looking. Couldn't find a bass anywhere. I thought I was doing something really wrong but after seeing all the other reports of not finding bass, It wasn't just us. Tried for fluke for a little while but my buddy was getting  to get rammy so we started to troll in a zig zag pattern across the Raritan ending up out from the Keansgurg pier. I was intending to set up for fluke again , plans changed quick when my buddy hooked up on a fat blue. We started throwing plugs at em and reeled them in the rest of the day. we hit trple digits in about 4 hrs. Got somegreat video of my son and my buddy setting the hook and playing the fish in! We kept 14 and released the rest unharmed. It wass a fun trip even if we didn't get on the bass! * It was strange, we only caught one blue on the troll.!??
