Freshwater Mon Report May 26th
« on: May 27, 2008, 10:49:09 AM »
Met my friend Steve at his house at 5:45 am.We went to Garden State Bow & Reel rte 23 in Stockholm NJ to pick up bait.Only 5 herring left so we took the 5 and also bought 2 Doz Large Shiners.Steve said Art let's go to Clinton reservoir(Permit needed Newark water Shed)Steve launched his Monark and we took a short ride across the reservoir. We put 4 lines in and within 5 minutes 1 of the rod's goes down.I let the fish run & and set the hook.I start reeling in the fish & the fish spit the hook. The wind started picking up once we took a few more drifts & we had no other choice but to drop the anchor.Steve took us over to a cove & we waited 2.5 hrs before we got another hit.1st Steve was hooked up with a 18 Smallie & after that my rod goes down I landed a 19.5" smallie. Both smallies were released & we called it a day at noon.

Pics to follow.
