Raritan Bay Fluking 6/3
« on: June 03, 2008, 06:43:28 PM »
left home about 6 with neighbor John and fishing Partner Dave, stopped at bait shop in Sayreville picked up some smelts and squid strips plus we had some frozen peanut bunker  leftover from last year, met friend Ken who lives in Sayreville at the ramp.fishing back bay by 7:30.fishing lumps and edges,in out of the channels, not real heavy action but a nice pick,a few over 19 inches, then John landed a nice fat 21 incher, plus for some reason a lot of fish were dropped before getting in,either are skills are slipping or these fish went to get off the hook school over the winter.then we stayed right in the center of the channel and caught fish in the deep water,40 plus feet.ended up with 10 keepers,2 at 18 inches,4 over 19 and 4 over 20 inches, also 4 bluefish were caught, kept the bluefish, have some friends that want them.back home by 3:30 cleaning up and filleting, nice pile of fillets, nice fat fish, great day on the water.next trip I think will be with Ken on his boat thursday,he wants to do an evening trip for stripers.

Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.
