Using Fluke Belly as Bait

I know the new Regulations say :

You can belly 1 fluke but it must be of legal size...

Of couse that is per man..

Question is..

When I used up all the bait on my legal fish. can I belly another?

Or you can only posses 1 bellied fluke per man

so if ya got 3 guys on the boat you can belly 3 Fluke but each guy has to claim one of them as his/hers

i see people bellying up 9 inch sundials.. i didnt even know what a sundial was until i saw a man walking with 3 of them on his side.....

Sun dial is not covered under the fluke regs. You can keep them, However, I would keep the carcass if only to show that your strips were from the sun dial and not a fluke if you were boarded.

wow if the bellied fluke goes overboard can you belly another I say no but it IS your catch

Don't forget, the fine is for HAVING a short fish. There is also a fine for EVERY fish you have that is short. Thus, if you have ONE short fish, you pay a fine for having it plus a fine for the one fish. Therefore doubling the initial fine. If you have more short fish, you will pay the fine for each additional fish.

So..  I catch 3 fluke 18"s. I belly one.  I lose my belly bait.  I can not belly another.

Is this correct?

That would be correct, but the others on the boat could belly a Fluke out of their catch..........thats why the Lord made Dog Fish (oooooppppps they are endangered)

Joe I think we have to be careful on this one. Let's take this a step further is the regulation still in affect that say's "There will be no filleting of Flat fish." excluding our 1 legal fluke?? Or has that been washed ?
