Plenty of bunker as the Pounder 2 broke the inlet saturday morning. Snagged our fill within afew minutes and started livelining. a small blue on a diamond jig and a runoff that resulted in a chopped bunker were all that resulted. We kept moving slowly north, staying ahead of the bunker and livelining with no success. We soon tired of the bumper boats like fishing and decided to make a run to the rocks north of Red Church, but were met there with a fluke fishing fleet and no bunker pods. the wind started kicking up and the area was soon determined fishless. time was running short so we headed south back towards the Manasquan Inlet, but the wind had dispersed the bunker. Fluke fishing in that area led to afew small junkfish.
Water was around 57. Should've been perfect for bass, but all reports at the marina indicated that we did about average.
no rods lost at least this time...
