Irish Ayes non-fishing day report.
« on: June 09, 2008, 08:36:42 PM »
BobG and I took a ride to the boat today to check out why the washdown pump (used for portable livewell) wasn't working. Ran a test on it and found it was seized and kept popping the circuit breaker. Replaced the pump and hooked up the live well.

Wanting to check out the livewell operation  ;D we decided to hit the ocean for an hour or so.

Headed north out of Shark River and was almost immediately greated by a bunker pod.

Pulled some snag hooks thru the school and put a half dozen in the well before putting them on our livelining outfits.

Continued to pull bunker and put them in the well as the liveline outfits were deadsticked.

We stayed until 4 (got out at 1) and had numerous run offs. Had the initial run and then the fish dropped the bait. Never did get a hook into a fish.

Going out again tomorrow to try to put one in the boat again.  t^

Just think of how well youd've (is that a word?) done if it WAS a fishing day....

I bet the excitement is building.....

Always good to have a working pump or 2 or 3.

Capt Allen, we didn't get out on the water until 8am. A lot later than we should have been there. Or a lot earlier (should have been 8pm.)  TT^

I understand the past few days have been hot first thing in the morning and later in the evening.
