F.B. 6/7-6/8 Report
« on: June 09, 2008, 03:35:04 PM »
Had the Fluka Brasi out Fluking again Sat/Sun with Bordentown area buddies Dave and Ross. Left Keansburg  Sat.  a little after 6am  and headed to the area of the Reach that we fished last week. Found the bite slow there with only a few shorts coming aboard. Then the cocktail Blues showed up, busting all over on top, and grabbing our fluke baits. We landed a couple that went in the box for strips, and lost a few hooks before moving away from them.   Moved east and set up near the Ammo Pier with better results, and soon had our first keeper, a fat 19 incher flopping on the deck courtesy of Dave.. Continued to fish the area thru the incoming and the switch for a steady pick of fish, albeit mostly short . Dave has a golf counter that we click after each Fluke to track keeper/short ratio.. Ended the day with 60 total for the 3 of us, with 7 keepers to about 20” . Most of those where caught by Ross and Dave as I was “King of the Birds”  Saturday, and only accounted for 1 keeper myself.  Left a little later in the morning Sunday at about 7:30  and headed back to where we left off the day before.. Action was slower, and the ratio was worse. Did not boat a keeper until almost noon. Moved around some, and continued to pick at shorts, but could not get it going with the keepers. Quit at about 2:30  with  only 2 in the box, one about 18 ½: and the other a nice 21” fatty, out of a total of 34. Sorry, but no pics this week as my camera has been a bit persnickety since I bounced it off the deck last week. I’ll have a new one for next week.  t^

nice report.. has anyone adventured to the wrecks yet for the larger fluke, or are the gas prices keeping everyone in the bay.

It aint whats in the box, its the time you have on the water with the boys.

you also get major style points for using "persnickity" in a report   rofla
