Went out to the Tuckahoe River on Sunday 6/8 with handlines and topless traps. Spent three hours out in the heat, moving from the crabbing shack floating dock, at the mouth of the creek where the crab shack sits and two spots close to the power plant.
Not a good run. Three whopping keepers. That's one per hour for those keeping track. Almost no little guys.
I checked my log book and had a good run there on the same date last year. I've never been skunked like that on the Tuckahoe River. Very, very disappointing.

6/9 on Patcong Creek
I was miserable all day in the office Monday (much to the dismay of my staff) because of my terrible day on the Tuckahoe River Sunday 6/8. I finished my day around 6:00 pm and figured, 'what the heck?' and hit the pontoon boat and headed out to Patcong Creek.
Spent only two hours out before the gnats starting moving in to feast despite my thick coating of bug spray. I worked six handlines off the boat while anchored up at the creek that leads to one of the "Dredges" that is off the Patcong.
The action was good. I pulled in 22 keepers, which made me feel a lot better after my terrible day the day before.
A couple of interesting notes: Only five throw backs. Not sure what to make of that ratio. All the keepers were male.
