Flats Slam!!
« on: June 05, 2008, 03:41:36 PM »
Headed to the lower CT River this morning with my buddy Spanky. The plan was to do some T&W trolling T-Man style and throw some of my new topwater plugs if the fish seemed cooperative.

What a morning, we banged over 30 stripers on the combo of tubes and plugs with a healthy number of blues to 12lbs mixed in.

The heavy overcast and wind was just the ticket for getting the fish to the top and we cleaned up!! What a blast with 2-3 fish on each drift knocking our surface plugs right out of the water. More than a few hit and missed 2-3 times on a retrieve just to finally swallow the plug only feet from the boat.

Our tube trolling and casting was done in 4 to 12 feet of water and we spent 3 hours hammering them on the same 1/4 mile drift.

Here's some pics....

The blues we fat... no wonder they were hitting our plugs while still having a mouth full of bunker

the striper fishing always seems to be better NOT in NJ.  5hrug
Give a man a fish, and he can eat for a day. But teach a man how to fish, and he'll be dead of mercury poisoning inside of three years.

Thanks fellas... I hope it's not to boring to look at reports from up here in CT. But, I always think it's fun to share some decent pics and stories.

This is a nice site and I'm glad I got turned on to it when I was at the Somerset show.

Have a great season everyone... and if any of you ever have questions about how to use our trolling products please feel free to pm me here or shoot me an e-mail on our website.

Not boring at all T-Man. Good to see what people are doing in other areas, expecially for the guys who travel and might get to that area. Keep the report coming.  t^
