On my Tuesday trip with Capt. Ken Zwirko, he insisted on hooking them in front of the dorsal fin barely under the skin with alot of hook showing. That worked well with good hookup ratios.

I like to start off in front of the Dorsil fin,and play around in the upper lip,or nostril. See what works.

Sometimes it helps to trim the tail fins on the livie so it will swim injured making it an easier prey to the striper.
