We left the dock late 11:30, Me the wife and Drew. broke the inlet and was met by a school of bunker and snagged 12. Hailed the Irish Ayes, Capt Joe said they were North of the in let and were switching over to fluking after having no luck with the Striper's. Drew worked as a mate on a charter out of Belmar the day before and did well on Striper's so we headed for the same location. Capt Joe radioed me saying he was heading further North. We proceeded to fish for Striper's. We had several run offs and one broken line before we had a live bunker attacked on the surface, plus one of our chucks was hit, we were doubled up for a short time before I lost mine. Drew was still hooked up and boated a 20 pounder. Then the Storm started to roll in. We headed south closer to the inlet by the time we hit the inlet all you could see was the jetties and bridge vanish as a wall of rain hit us< I know there was a boat in front of me and a boat behind me and a party boat laying on his horn just in side the Ocean Ave. bridge cause on body could hardly see a thing, A stressful situation but from what I could see everyone made it into the inlet safely. Not sure what happened to Capt. Joe on the Irish Ayes, I could not make radio contact or Cell Phone contact with Capt Joe. I hope all is fine Joe

Hi Skip, shortly after I told you we were heading further north, I noticed the sky beginning to turn. I put my radar on and saw the rain on the radar screen even further north. I tried calling you on 10 to tell you but didn't get an answer. Should have called your cell, but I wasn't thinking.

Anyway, I was probably at the dock already when you were trying to call on the radio. And, I just got a missed call from your cell at about 6pm. That is the great service from AT&freakin T.

Good job on the bass, all we found today were blues.

Got to spend some time on the water, one in the boat, and some other action, then a strong storm. One of those trips you won't soon forget. Everyone home safe, all good.  <'((((><

Yes the heavy rain, wind and low visability that comes on quickly can be a pain in the a$$and test your nerves.

Glad all went well for you guys, it can be a pretty scary situation out there when it rains so hard you can't see in front of you.
