Sandy Hook Conditions
« on: June 11, 2008, 12:35:38 PM »
I went up to North Beach on the Hook two days ago, Monday ,trying my luck with a little bottom rigging.  Lot of sea robins out, I caught 4 and my friend caught 6, no nice fish or keepers but there are fish biting out there.  We were hoping for some early Fluke but no such luck yet.

Good try soxfanjp,

If you can get out there in the early morning or right before dark you should do a little better when it comes to quality fish.

Down here the artificial lures are starting to work so don't forget to add that to your arsenal as well.

How are the bugs up there.  If anyone is heading to IBSP make sure to bring the bug spray especially if the wind is out of the west.

Happy Catching

Hey Paul,

Sorry I haven't been on in a while but to answer your questions, the bugs weren't as bad as they've been in the past.  Had some flies buzzing around my bait cooler but that's about it.
Should be heading out there again soon, thanks for the early morning-late afternoon tip.

Any time JP,

I am hoping to get out tonight for a while.  I might try Ortley Beach and see what happens towards dusk.

I have a couple of new top water lures I am dying to try out.

Happy Catching
