Fishing with MR Charters on the Andreas' Toy 6.27
« on: June 28, 2008, 11:50:58 AM »
Well yesterday found me again with my friend Captain Rich Kosztyu from MR Charters & Captain Carlos Bastos for an evening striper trip...

This was a trip that my Dad (Bucktail Joe) set up for my birthday, and I had the pleasure of sharing the trip with my friends; John Hoinowski (Jakesbeard), Lorenzo Square (Boobie), and Kenny Olander (Bowhunter444)...

We no sooner get out of the Pt. Pleasant Inlet and there are bunker everywhere...I mean it seemed like MILES of bunker...but they were all happy bunker...nothing on them beating them up.

Captain Rich figured no time like the present to get some bait in the boat...

Hey...I need a hand with this...

Well...how'd he do???

Can you say "Got Bait!"...

We set up drifting the huge bunker pods to the south, without any success. But Rich & Carlos new that Joe (WackemStackem) was going to be fishing to the north...

Then around 5ish we got the call from Joe...fish busting on the surface...catching them on poppers...we got no bait...

It must have been a sight to see as Rich powered the 31 foot Contender to where we needed to get to.  And when we got there, it was as promised...fish on the surface and a gaggle of boats...

We gave Joe some bunker and proceeded to hook our first two fish...

Fish in the box!

The fishing was fast and furious...they'd boil and EVERYBODY would make a move and be hooked up...it looked like people were playing bumper-boats at times!!!

Everybody on the boat caught...which made my day...

And then Mr. Jakesbeard out did us all...

We wound up limiting out; 5 guys - 12 fish - 2 bonus tags...

Then the sky started getting dark & we knew it was time to boogie on out of there...we gave the WackemStackem crew the rest of our bait & made tracks for home!

I'd like to thank Jakesbeard for having the wherewithal to remember to take pics...cause all the pics in this thread are his!

All I can say is that in the last 20 days I've been on the water 3 times and have had three exceptional trips with exceptional Captains & exceptional companions!!!

I think I may be spoiled... t^

And Joe, it's probably me that owes you the Grey Goose!!!

Fishing Sandy Hook and anywhere I can get on a boat.

My biggest fear is when I die my wife sells all of my fishing tackle for what she thinks I paid for it!
