I am a fan of using what the Mfr's reccomend. Especially if the moto is under warranty.

You will pay more but your motor is worth it. Just price a new one and you'll see what I mean.

I ran my last Yamaha 2 stroke on Penzoil and Havoline. Was getting either for under $8 a gallon when Yamalube was going for over $20. Put over 1500 hours on it before I put on a new 4 stroke Yammie.

The 2 stroke still ran strong when I took it off. I just wanted a 4 stroke so I went with it. Figured I'd do it before I had any issues with the old motor.

While I was under warranty, I bought the Manufacturers motor oil where I bought my boat. Figured it could not hurt. Now its out of warranty  I still buy the same oil. Capt.Matt.

todays tecnoligy is so advanced, as long as you change your oil routinly you will be fine. its like anything else in life you get what you pay for. why sacrafice the heart of your boat to save 10 bucks.

I am sticking with the manufactures oil while the engine is under warranty also. Just paid 30 dollars for Mercury's DFI synthetic. Ouch is right
