Sunday 7-6 fluking...
« on: July 06, 2008, 03:27:16 PM »
Jumped aboard the Freddy C from Leonardo.

Same M.O. as every fluke report out there. Lots of action, 90% shorts, enough keepers to keep it interesting. Made 2 drifts from the Swash and across the Knoll, worked the rest of the day between 8 - 10 in the Reach.

Totaled 27 fluke with 3 keepers going 22",22" and 24". Smelts were the ticket, although 8" fluke had no problem hitting a bait there own size. My biggest fish came on a fresh searobin strip.

Bucktailed on and off all morning with crappy results. 1 and 2 oz Spros tipped with squid managed a few shorts.

Gave Gulp shrimp and swimming mullet a shot as well. If ya like birds, gulp is the way to go!

Was going to take a few pics of my keepers but the digi cam rolls out of my bag and hits the deck. Its toast, thankfully it was my wifes camera and not mine. At this point in the season, I think everyone knows what a 22" fluke looks like anyway.

And as a last note, it never gets old watching someone use a spinning reel upside down!!!

Nice report. YOu had action AND got 3 good size keepers to boot, thats a whole lot better than the average person is doing on fluke, especially with the south wind and other negative conditions. Sounds like a good day.
Sorry about the camera, I hate when that stuff happens, and you're prolly going to hate it more when the wifey chews you out, LMAO.
