7 july barny area
« on: July 07, 2008, 04:56:02 PM »
waited till after 8 to leave the house. gave joe a buzz to see what the fog was like with no answer and headed out into the unknown. turned out just fine.

tried a couple drifts around the bi bouy on the way out with 1 wayshort. went on out to hit up the barn reef. pulled 4 more wayshorts in around 60'and a couple skates. wind picked up and we headed in.

bait was procut and smelt with 4oz to hold.

Greg, did you try calling my cell or on the radio. If on the radio, I was on my way out shortly after 8. I would have been on channel 13, listening for any action with the bridges, and not on channed 10, where I usually monitor.

I didn't have any missed calls on my cell.  5hrug
But, it is a good thing you didn't get me because I would have told you to stay in. We were blanketed with fog again today. Obviously, it wasn't bad down your way.

Good effort on the trip today.  t^

no sweat joe, tried the cell.

we left the dock about 915, and hit the inlet about an hour later. there was a little fog, but had like 2miles vis.

also to note, i saw absolutely no bunker, only heard of some early on the tires.

another also, about 2miles further east than the barny reef there had to be 6 commercial netters hanging out in the area doing circles and crap.

no clue as to what they where doing, but hopefully they wheren't getting all my fluke.

that and a tug pulling a barge through the reef made for an interesting day of gawking.

Hmmmmmmmm, is your number an 893-****? I do see a missed call from that. Probably when I was netting peanuts and the cell was on the boat. Sorry about that.

I saw no bunker at all today also. Hopefully, they will be back around tomorrow.  t^
