Renegade Striper Fishing 07/10/08
« on: July 11, 2008, 01:18:46 AM »
Fished the "Renegade" this afternoon on a open boat charter in the hopes of getting my dad (age 80) his first striper this season on his 4th trip out with me.  Well, Capt Mike was able to pull through for us.  It was very tough getting bunker, and we finally got to the Rocks with only a dozen or so when we started marking loads of fish piled up on each other.  No sooner than the bait went into the water . . . WHAM . . . it would get hit . . . mostly blues, but some nice bass in with them also.  Dad and I got a pair of twin 20 lbers, another angler, Charlie, got, I believe a 24 or a 26, and also a 28, and the fourth angler, John, released somewhere around 3 or 4 in the 30 lb range.  We quickly ran out of bunker and switched over to plastics and metal, but the blues didn't mind at all  ;D

Thanks for a wonderful afternoon on the water Capt Mike  TT^

Dad's had me out on the water with him since I was two, although back then, my mom also went along to supervise.  It's my pleasure to now bring my Dad along on trips that he can handle at his age.  His knees aren't that great and he needs to be on the larger boats that have some room for him to be able to sit.  Not only was the Capt of the Renegade very considerate of my Dad, but the other anglers were as well, telling him to just fish and sit where he needed to.  So, once again, a  TT^ to Capt Mike, as well as his other fares, John and Charlie.
