Since I couldn't get out this weekend, I jumped at the opportunity to fish with my son and his girl friend the California Girl.
Incoming water,West Wind and very little drift made things difficult all day. Each spot was a pick of FAT SHORTS to 17 1/2" on squid,P-nuts,gulp and bucktail.Fished the flats ,the deep ,the channel edges,the mid channels Red and Green side.Two keepers,one of which was caught by the" California Girl" and weighed in at 8 lbs 2 oz.  You know I repeated the drift numerous times after that.Back into the harbor worked the pods and live lined for some bass but found tackle stealing busting blues.Okay with me to come home.   Good Luck out there. 8.2 lbs is an awesome fish!  Congratulations! t^

I wish they all could be California girls... ;)

Nice report AJ.. Way to work it.. As for the keeper ratio, look at it this way..that sweet 8 Lber should yeild as much meat as a 1985 limit! Nice job and congrats to Cali Girl!  chrz

It was so cool watching her play this fish out and then bringing it to net.Then hearing the other two fisherman expressing joy and happiness for her on her "only third fluke trip". As I said last week "she's HOOKED ".

Great catch for the California Girl. Keep it up and you will make a Jersey Girl out of her.

Good report and it was nice you were able to put the meat on the plate.
