Sea Hawk Saturday 7/19
« on: July 21, 2008, 11:58:16 AM »
Tough day.  Good crowd and captain burnt the fuel looking for fish.  Started out in the bay and evenetually made our way outside and then back in.
Just couldn't get them going.  Catch a few on the drift and the swarm moved in making it fairly impossible to drift the same area.

Theresa managed a keeper as did my uncle Bob.  Had his grandson out and was busy helping him out in the morning.  He did catch a short and some searobins so was happy.  Spent the rest of the day with the captain in the wheel house(THANKS Capt Mike grtn) and I managed a few shorts and sea robins but skunked for a keeper :-\

Overall a very tough, slow pick of keepers so hopefully things improve as conditions change this week.

Sea Hawk has been having better luck on some of their Magic Hours trips.  They did have a cruise chartered sunday evening and a charter this morning.  Should be getting good again soon.

I got the "damn if you're not catching it must be bad" from the mates and some regulars rgmn

Wasn't from lack of effort on anyone's part.

Jerry, better watch or Mike might put you behind the wheel  ;)

Good report GT. Can't always catch em. Sounds like the Capt tried his best to put the patrons on the fish.
