This is actually a 2 part report.
I was down in Wildwood all last week and decided to try the fishing down there a try. I took my son out on a 1/2 day boat, The Lady Chris. We fished on Wednesday, and there were a total of 5 keepers on the boat, 1 of which was mine, and also turned out to be the pool winner. The fish was about 3.5 lbs. My son and I combined for about 8 shorts also.
We decided to try for the pool again on Thursday, but could only manage a close second, again about 3 pounds. There were a total of 5 keepers on board.
Got back home on Saturday, and couldn't wait to try the fluke here. We loaded up the boat and headed out yesterday. There were 4 of us including my son and dad. After launching the boat we could see peanuts jumping so we threw the net a couple of times and loaded the livewells. On the first drift in the back of the bay my dad got a nice 26" 6.5 pounder. We also hooked several shorts, but no more keepers. We explored the rest of the day with a lot of shorts found, but only three more keepers. Most fish were caught were on a chartreuse Gulp or peanut bunker. We also loaded up on the usual sea robins, bluefish and skates, which at least provide a little excitement. The skates were really slamming the bucktails.
