Man the new moon tides were
ripping this week!! Fast tides make it tough going for my charters sometimes. Trying to get novice 3 wayers to keep the baits close and on the bottom is no easy task when your drifts are 3 knots plus!
In addition, my favorite slack tide periods for trolling the tubes/spoons are lighting fast with a very short window for hitting the hot spots.
But even when conditions are tough, I'm lucky to have guys on board who are interested in learning and basically just a lot of fun to fish with.
So it went this week where we caught a load of bass with many of them being the schoolie variety. I did manage a couple of PB fish for clients and even had 1 guy get his 1st striper ever. A mix of decent size blues kept it interesting and it was fun watching one client get his first bluedog to explode on a popper...
Maybe next week will bring some bigger fish, but everyone this week went home happy & it was a lot of fun being on the water 4 out of 5 days.
Here's some pics....
