Reel Class Fluke 8/5
« on: August 05, 2008, 07:05:20 PM »
Had Neil Flanagan aboard with his two boys Shaun and Quinn.  The trip was a 4 hour, river/ocean split trip.

Started out in the river, drifting between Clark's and GSM, and we had constant, drop and reel action with short fluke for the first couple of hours.  Most of the fish were in the 12-16" range, a lot smaller than last week.

At around noon time we headed out to the reef, and did a few drifts picking at more shorts, and 1 nice keeper on the bucktail as well as a nice seabass.  One of the boys started feeling ill not long after we got out there, so we shot back into the river.

Made some drifts just inside the inlet, caught more shorts, and then finished up the day again in the stretch between GSM and Clark's picking away at more shorts, plus one more keeper.

Finished the day with just 3 fish in the box, out of about 60 fluke.  Neil's boys (ages 6 and 8) did a superb job all day long, and overall it was a great day on the water.

Nice job Capt Allen. A lot more shorts seem to be showing up. Keeps the action going if nothing else.  t^

Sounds like a nice father son day.

Saw you guys on the way out to the reef from the wall.  Nothing going on there yesterday.
