Flukemasters Tourney 8-03-08......
« on: August 04, 2008, 05:52:38 PM »
Fished with the tourney today with Back Door Billy and Mike, aka Lifes a Beach !!!!!

Ran down the beach and was greated with a NW wind blowing 15-20 knts and a 2+ knt drift..... HORRIBLE... even with drift sock going 1.8 at times.... fish just wouldnt chew....seemed everyone had the same results in the area... wind finally backed off around 1130, now we had perfect conditions and still no consistant bite.... fished an area where Billy and i fished on Tuesday, when we put a limit catch with our 5 fish then going 34 lbs, would have blown the field away today but just wasn't meant to be.....

LAB did have a day that just wasnt him.... I remember him hitting home runs ... But today unfortunately he dropped at least 2 fish one of wich was maybe 10 cranks to the net and definitly double digits as the grandpa pole was buckled over and the fish was shaking mad dog style....

as for myself I was getting no love what so ever.... even though it was a slow tuff pick i just wasnt getting the bite, boxing just 2 fish all day....

When it was said and done we weighed in with a 5 fish total of 24 lbs on the nose, Lab did have the biggest fish of the day going 6.7 lbs..... I believe the winning total was 26+ lbs....

well unless i can get off of work next weekend its back to meat fishing as the season gets closer to the closing.....

Had a funny ass time, laughed till we cried, Food was great as LAB was da man along those lines dishing out, baby back ribs, Penne Pasta salad, chicken cutlet sandwichs on awesome bread with fresh mozz. cheese and roasted peppers, then finishing off the day with Fillet Mig sandwiches at the dock.

Nice report and good catch. You weren't that much shy of the winning catch. Great effort.  t^

Nice catch guy's TT^

Myself, My Dad, Capt. Stelios & Uncle Paulie fished the tourny as well. We wound up with just over 23lbs. for our 5 fish.

As Bobber said NW was honking! Slowed in the afternoon but water was dirty.

It sounds like you guy's ate better than us!

Next week I'm sneeking over for a Samich!

Don't forget about that awfull full MOON that blinded everyone at the start! ???

Hope you guy's make it this weekend.
