I'm new to fishing for tuna and had some trolling questions. The crew is fairly familiar with fishing for tuna, but not very successful. I want to better our chances for success our next trip out.
I was wondering about trolling...
We had 7 lines in the water (2 spreaders, 4 singles w/ artificial, 1 w/ ballyhoo). But all were running on top. I would assume we would want to have some top, and some at different depths, to make sure we had more area covered.
Can you pros help me out with this and make any suggestions. Give us some tips for putting more fish on the line (actually any fish on the line)? We tried multiple color combos as well.
How far back from the boat should they be? Should we be running an triangle pattern?
Is there someplace to learn more about proper trolling techniques? Any boats/captains that will teach on a trip out?
Thanks.
