Had the BACCALA out both Saturday & Sunday in the JCSA Fluke tornament with Capt. Stelios, Uncle Paulie & My Dad.
SATURDAY:
Fished north of Sandy Hook in the deep stuff. We were drifting @ about 1.8 knots due to the wind with but we were picking. As things slowed we were into some nice fishing even as the south west breeze. By days end we were releasing 18" fish. Ended the day with 20 keepers all ranging from 3.5 - 5.5 pounds.
SUNDAY:
Fished to the south of the hook and started the day with no conditions at all bobbing around in a .2 knot drift. Second drift produced a 25.5" 7.97# fat fish and few more keepers for the day with the storms aproching fast. Made a hard decision not to run to weight in due to a last minute phone call from a freind that just boated a 8.5#r & knowing that team TNT was in fourth with a 7.4#r and third was 7.5#r. Good call as forth went to a 8.1#r at the last minute.
Overall great two days of fun and great to stay in contact with each other.
