Become a Facilitator of Project WILD/Aquatic WILD/WET/PLT
September 9 & 16, 2008
9:00 am to 4:00 pm
Do you enjoy teaching in the outdoors and working with educators? If so, then here is your chance. Individuals who have previously taken a Project WILD, Aquatic WILD, WET or Learning Tree workshop (prior to September 1, 2008) have the opportunity to become a Project Facilitator.
A two-day Facilitator Training is being offered September 9 at the Forest Resource Education Center and September 16 at the Essex County Environmental Center in Roseland, NJ. Attendance at both sessions is required. Participants will learn the skills necessary to facilitate workshops for all four of these exciting, nationally recognized programs including the tools and skills needed to plan, conduct and lead a Project workshop.
To complete the training each participant needs to co-facilitate a future workshop with a current facilitator.
Benefits of becoming a facilitator include:
* Practical use of skills related to public speaking, demonstration and mentoring
* Recognition as a role model and leader in the science of environmental education
* Applied adult instruction and learning in formal and non-formal settings
* The possibility of earning a $200.00 stipend for a day's work!
Cost of the training is $10.00 (facilitator materials and lunch provided)
