Luna Sea Nick laughs at me but I use chicken gizzards cut in half. Once you put it on the hook it does not come off. They seem to love it.
I also use them for sea bass.   ;D

He was using sandworms, just wondering what you guys use.  t^ Maybe I could find a better bait than what he had.

I like a simple hi-lo rig tied up using 1/0 Gami Octopus hooks.  I prefer using frech clam strips for them, but sometimes they really just want those worms.

Overall, I've caught more larger ones on clams.  Not too big of a piece as they'll strip it pretty quick.

The 1/0 oct hook will get smaller ones too.  Just helps weed out the real small shorts although I've caught 4" bergals with that size hook 5hrug

You can also go with the pre-snelled baitholder gold porgy hooks.  I still like going with the largest size I can find.  Oh and an orange bead, then pink, then red in color preference order ;)

At a local pier, guys were catching small sand porgies on snapper strips, go figure t^

Porgy fishing frustrates me.  They do fight hard and actually like the taste of them over sea bass which GT says is weird? 5hrug
