Governor's Surf Fishing Tournament

The Governor’s Annual Surf Fishing
Tournament is a great opportunity to learn
more about the sport of surf fishing and
take advantage of a great family activity!
Appreciation of our marine resources
through surf fishing will hopefully build a
stronger advocacy for marine resource
conservation.
Exhibits featuring sportsmen’s clubs,
conservation organizations and tackle
manufacturers will be at Pavilion #1.
Entry to the park is free to individuals who
register for the surf fishing tournament.
NOTE: The purchase of a beach buggy
permit is required to drive on the
beach. Permit applications will
be available at the park entrance.

TIME AND PLACE
Weather permitting, the tournament will be
held Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Island
Beach State Park in Ocean County.
Storm/hurricane date is Sunday, October 12th.
NOTE: It will take extreme conditions to
force cancellation.

information.

6:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m. ....................... Fishing
1:30 p.m.–2:00 p.m. ........... Raffle Drawing
2:00 p.m. ...................... Awards Ceremony
Mail in Registration Fee
Age 18 and older–$10
Ages 13-17–$5
Ages 12 and under are free. Children 12 and
under must be accompanied by an adult and are
still required to register.

I'll be there but unfortunately I won't be fishing.  I will be wearing a different hat this year.

If you see my Expedition roll by wave and maybe I'll be able to stop by and say hi.  Good luck to all that enter it is a great event and I have had many a good time fishing that tournament.  I have to say one thing though bring your patience with you and a child if you can.
