Not saying much, but I have caught blues on the black 8" Gulp eels.

Also hooked into either a bonito or albie on one, never got it to the boat to find out. Nice run on light tackle before breaking off, even some aerials...  t^

This isn't a Gulp! eel.  But I thought it was a cool video showing a Storm eel rigged on a type of tin squid.  Frankly I don't think it swims as well as the Felmlees on a regular old tin squid, but its still a nice bait. t^

That 7" looks real nice I might have to get a couple of those in natural and black.  I really like that black one.

Cool find!  I saw something similar in Grumpy's only it was Gulp not Storm.  Same type of setup, pre-rigged and they came 1 or 2 in a package.  I love watching product videos of lures and baits showing how they move in the water!!

I think they are around $10.  We don't carry them.  I think they've been out for a year or so now.

I just finished rigging a couple of 9" Sluggos.  I'm going to try them next time I hit the beach (which may be tomorrow). ;D  If I could find my camera I'd show them to you. rgmn

I know I'm a little late with throwing these in the salt.  They have been very popular in New England for many years and I do know a Jersey guy that has used them with great success on the stripes in the bay.  I've used the 4 1/2" and 6" versions rigged Texas and "Texposed" style and have caught quite a few largemouth on them, so I know they work! t^

Anyway, here's what they look like pre-rigged from the manufacturer, Lunker City.  These go for about $15.  But, I can rig my own for less than $3 per bait! ;)

When I relocate my camera, I'll post a pic of my homemade version.

I want to get some eels/sluggos going and I want to try some BKD's in the surf this season as well!!

The rear hook is attached to the front hook with 50# dacron. 

As far as eels, I should have some Berkley Powerbait eels to give away at the surf party on the 25th. t^

Here's a pic of the Sluggos I rigged last night.  I have a bunch more, in different colors, to do as well.

i have used them in the surf, but very limited.  found out how to rig them off of another website.  not sure how this site is about linking other sites so i wont unless i hear otherwise.  they are very easy to rig and weight.  as i heard, the weight is the important part, and from your statement of the 50lb dacron, i believe you saw it on the same website that i did.  they cast great and seem to swim well, just havent fished them enough to know how well they will do.

I actually found this rigging method on You Tube (see below).  Although, I have seen other sites that show a much simpler single hook rig.  I'm sure that a single hook is sufficient on a 9" bait.  But, I felt like playing, so I went with the tandem hook rig. ;)

bought the jar of live gulp 8 inch silver mud eels and the 8 inch sandworms yesterday,this afternoon made up rigs with 3 to 3 1/2 foot leaders 20 lb test for drifting bottom,thought is lighter line more action.plan on next trip to clam in bay,then when it gets dark drift these in the river,river side of the Perth Amboy,South Amboy train Bridge and another thing if you buy live eels at the bait shops it gets kind of expensive if you don't get any action you can't put them back in the jar for next trip.hopefully get to try this monday.          Kez
