Raritan Bay Evening trip 10/20
« on: October 20, 2008, 10:35:37 PM »
left home this afternoon around  2:30 with fishing buddies John and Dave for an evening trip.launched at Sayreville and headed out at the beginning of the out going tide.anchored up at the rock pile off the Ward point Secondary channel.we were using clams left over from the last trip that we shucked and salted.not to long after starting I caught a 26 inch striper,so we thought things were looking promising, then John caught a small fluke on a clam, then John got a 16 inch Blackfish on a clam that went into the cooler.a few bites here and there but no more caught.when the sun went down and almost dark pulled up and moved to bayside Perth Amboy to South Amboy train Bridge.my main goal was to drift the gulp live eels .no takers on them, actually not really marking anything, then tried the riverside, still no takers and not really marking anything there either, moved around a little in the river but nothing, then headed back up the river trying to mark something but no go,even moved up past the ramp and searched but nothing,so headed in,off the water by nine.really a nice night on the water.will give it a go later in the week.   Kez
