sounds like a good idea. I will try it next season.. Since the peanut bunker are so plentyful lately, and everything eats them, you can save alot of money while flukin... especially with the price of Killies...
I always freeze the bellies for the next season, so I always have some good bait on hand early in the season. Also at times when I'm fishing from land, I prefer a weakfish belly on a jighead for fluke over live bait, I can cast it further and fish more area effectively. The kids freeze peanuts at times, but obviously they're better live. How much are killies? I've never purchased them. I live a block from Barnegat Bay in the Kettle Creek area, and the mud flats there are loaded with killies, have always caught my own. Years ago, my kids even supplied Pells with killies when his bait guy couldn't catch them, it was funny, I'm on vacation, running the kids back and forth from the bay to Pells with killies, instead of fishing, but the kids were thrilled, and thats what counts.
