Left work half day on thursday to try and catch the outgoing and get my Nov. water slip. We fit my boat in the slip and ran out to the rips way later than expected but on the first drift with clams we boated 1 keeper and lost 1 boat side. Also a blue in that mix. It died down real fast. We made a run down by the Highlands bridge and only managed shorts and blues. Ran back up north looking for life and did not find any. Back at the rips and still nothing so I figured I would go in by belford to try some poppers, but nothing. Headed back to the Tc and drifted and threw poppers , but still nothing. Decided to try the rips real quick to get rid of the 6 eels we had. As soon as the tide turned it was FISH ON! We boated 5 big keepers all close to 40"s and had a bunch of run offs and some shorts. It was a long day but well worth it.
We also boated this nice Abu which hit the scales at 5lbs with all the scallops and crabs.
The next morning I was way too tired to go to work so I called in a day and slept in but only could sleep till 930. So off to the boat for a few hours and to try to get the boat in the water slip ( the summer leasee was in on thursday night when we came back in). I hit the rips and then ran south and hit some birds. It was fish on with clams and jigs for a few hours. @ more just legal keepers for the big football party on sunday and I'mm back to the dock. The slip is still not open so I fillet the fish and find this.
Dont know what they are but they were mixed in with the rain fish....
