We broke Manasquan Inlet this morning at about 10:30 (without a net... it had been stolen off the boat
). We decided to make a right and head towards the 40'-55' deep waters off of bayhead, where we enjoyed a modest but existent pick of short striped ones to 26", all on a trolled chartreuse/ black 9'ers unbrella rig. 20kt Northwesterlies moved the boat so fast that jigging was impossible. After the bite slowed we decided to relocate to 55' of water off of manasquan, where fishfinder readings and life in general seemed virtually nonexistent. We returned to trolling south of the inlet and ran into a body of solid fish at about 2:30p around the red 2mile marker. we quickly pulled several large fish from this area, including a sweet 30" linesider which was turned into dinner a mere 3 hrs later. All fish were caught on said umbrella rig.
Tight lines,
