Brick Beach 11.24.08
« on: November 24, 2008, 09:45:11 AM »
Hit the beach around 6:30 this morning to join about 50 others working lures. DIdn't see a thing caught. About 20 buggies scouring the shoreline  but I didn't see one door open. Surf was very calm. Everyone was talking about yesterday. Supposedly sand eels and peanuts stormed the surf 5hrug  Well... I gave it a shot.

Good try,

I was over at Ortley in the morning around 9 and it was dead, guys out trying but nada.  There was a small fleet up that way I noticed but they stopped at the Lavellette line and looked loke they started up again south of hte Heights.

Oh well I am going to try this morning on the incoming.  I have a new lure to try out it is a P=nut spoon looks interesting.

Happy Catching

Good try!  Brick Beach has been crowded...last few times out, it was the same thing.  Surfcasters lined up for a mile or so both north and south from the old Thunderbird.  Mostly, all working lures and nothing caught!  Sand bar was really shallow as well.  You can wade out pretty far at low tide or on the outgoing for 50 or 60 feet before going above your knees.

I read about the action yesterday and heard from a friend who made it out.  Mostly , lots of shorts, but good bass action.  Another for the books that I missed, but you can't make them all!!

I went down Sun (11-23)to Mantoloking from about 1:00pm till 4:00pm...Lots of guys fishing both north and south of me as well. Just went down for a couple of hours to kill some time, Soaked some clams and had a good time pulling up about 3 shorts. Light west wind and a calm calm ocean. Was a great way to spend the afternoon. Can't wait till the bigger fish make their appearance....

Tight lines...........................
