Fish On! Holiday Wrap Up Report 11/30
« on: November 30, 2008, 06:53:42 PM »
Bass Fishing remains a steady pick for most of the state with plenty of action on jigs and lures. Bluefish are still in the mix and seem like they are in no hurry to leave. Anglers from Raritan Bay to Barnegat Bay are finding fish all along the coastline with a few keepers in between for the grill.

Miss Belmar Princess has been picking through tons of shorts and hungry blues in order to get everyone a keeper or two. The Miss Belmar Princess will continue to chase striped bass and blues as long as they hang around 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 a.m. daily and 7:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The Royal Miss Belmar is slamming away at black fish and so far, it has been very good taking fish up to 10lbs.The Royal Miss Belmar is black fishing 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

Black fishing was also solid on the Big Mohawk. Captain Chris has been weighing pool fish up to 10lbs.The Big Mohawk fills up quick so get there early if you plan on joining the crew for some serious bottom action. The Big Mohawk is black fishing 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

The Big Jamaica from Brielle continues to load up coolers on the off shore wreck trips with a mixed bounty of ling and sea bass. Most patrons are bagging high double digits of both ling and sea bass. The crew of the big Jamaica is now scheduled to sail on 18 hour, 50-80 mile wreck trips every week through the winter. For the next two weeks, they will sail every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 12:30AM for some hard-core wreck fishing.

Also from Brielle Capt. Jerry aboard Fish Monger Charters continues to stay red-hot going into December. Captain jerry is working grounds north of Barnegat Inlet where he is bagging fish from 5 to 9 lbs and maxing out his last few trips. Captain Jerry and crew know how to work the bottom and produce big fish. Check them out at www.fishmongercharters.com for an open schedule.

The action continues to get even better from Barnegat Light,Captain Steve Purul from
Reel Fantasea charters sent me an e-mail with pictures to show how hot the action is down south. Captain Steve had a few trips nailing bass on jigs up to 24 lbs. EJ from Virginia was out on Thanksgiving and landed 35 stripers to 16lbs in under 4 hours. The Tony Maffie Party “Rang The Bell " catching over 100 stripers with only 3-4 large blues thrown into the mix . The guys all stated that it was the most bass they had ever seen, let alone catch. The action just does not get any better so give Captain Steve a call and see if he can squeeze you in 609-290-1217. For all the latest action Log onto www.njsaltwaterfisherman.com

Great work as usual Ron.  Thanks for letting everyone know that the fishing all along the NJ shore, well pretty much along the shore line, is doing so well.

Sorry for not getting any surf fishing reports in but I have been a little busy with a project when I get a little further along I will fill you in.

Happy Catching
