Some of those anti whalers are CRAZY!!  Believe me, I am not for it, but if that is part of a countries culture, the whale is getting completely used, and there are regulations being followed...then why can't they do it!  It is no different than someone complaining because people keep fluke or stripers, etc...

However, if you are a whaler, you need some heavy duty protection...like a 50mm Cannon mounted on the bow or something!  These protesters border on terrorists or pirates.

Should make for interesting TV.

I traveled to Japan many times on business years ago and had a couple of visits to the Tokyo Tsukiji fishmarket....if it swims and isn't poisonous the Japanese will eat it (they even eat the fugu which is a poisonous blowfish, but carve out the bad stuff)......they have hurt the tuna industry big time and will bring certain species of whales to extinction if someone doesn't stop them.....shows like this help bring attention to the issue....they really have no regard for the whale, except as a delicacy.

That was a great show.  Man it's gunna get even better..

I'm not a tree huger by no means.. but there is a ban on commercial whaling. They are allowed to take 1000 a year for research and as they are cutting these "Mammals" up... they are holding up signs ( In English) like.. we are now taking samples of tissue..  Etc..  One whale can bring in as much a 1 million Dollars.

Man this is going to be a battle at sea.. and a must see t^

Anyone watch the entire series??  Most of the episodes were uneventful.  What a bunch of WAHOOS who acted like amateurs.  Some really stupid things they did, almost killing themselves.  Can't stand the 1st Mate friend of the Captain and the Captain can barely be addressed as such.

However, I give them a lot of credit for volunteering and believing so strongly in stopping whalers.  Seems like they were fairly successful at stopping the entire quota from being poached.  How about the finale, do you think the Captain was shot or it was staged??

If you have Comcast on Demand the series is on there. You can watch them all.
Taking a bunch of people who have never been to sea before is crazy. AA for effort though.
