New TICA Surge
« on: November 13, 2008, 10:12:05 PM »
Just picked one up today with some "found" money. 8' TICA Surge (2pc. 1/2-2) spinning. Paired up better with my reel (Daiwa Team Advantage) than Lami King Surf, Tsunami Airwave or St. Croix Triumph. Very similar product to the Airwave at about 30% of the cos. Can't wait to use it tomorrow night. I will get back with the field test.  chrz

gave it a try tonite throwing a bomber. rod loaded well, extremely comfortable to fish for hours with. Unfortunately, tonite was a poor nite for plugging, rough surf and strong current.  :'( a better review to come...

I love the action on this rod. I was a little concerned at first because I have always preferred a very stiff rod.  ;D I haven't got to test the rod with a sizable fish, but I have learned to love casting with this rod. Good taper to it as well, the one short I've caught put a pretty slow bend to this rod, something i've been looking for out of a rod with good sensitivity.

Comparing to a TICA Dolphin, St. Croix Tidemaster, Penn Pro Guide( all that my father an I own)

this rod gets an A.   t^ definitely recommended
