Delaware weekend toggin a Bust... 1-3 / 1-4

Good with the bad... and NO Excuses in reporting it....
 
Fished With the KS boat out of IRI Delaware on sat... A few of you guys know this boat and know the capts reputation of putting his fares on big fish and LOTS OF THEM.... Well Capt J is now a changed man.... he worries more about where the bandit/ island current and the Big M Express is and what they are doing.... is def now Overboard paranoid, is not shy about telling you nor is his mate shy about letting you know why you are fishing on unproductive grounds...... 
 
Started the day off on coral and bailed dogfish... BAILED THEM, Capt complained we cant go to the original plans because bandit crew is fishing that area today..WHAT :confused: .......after we loaded the box with doggies capt decided it was time to move but not until the mate was sent up front to look for the other boats....WHAT :confused:   ......   Finally moved to another coral spot where we found the dog fish bite just as good if not better... fished there again for dogs and a occasional tog until the Capt spotted the Bandit/ Island Current steaming back inshore... the mate then yelled REEL THEM UP NOW... capt put boat in gear and yanked the anchor, we then proceeded to flounder around in circles for what seemed like forever till the bandit boat was far off.... we then were taken to the drop and reel spot which was a mix of dogs and togs, but as we finally built up a bite the capt and the mate woke up and said thats it time to go..... total 21 togs to maybe 6lbs
 
NEVER have i experienced such paranoia in my life and never will i again on this boat.... we paid good money not to here the cry baby wowes of this one is here this boat is there, they need to go home ...etc..... we paid to fish and we expect to be put on productive bottom... your problems with other boats in your marina are your problem not ours.... as a matter of fact Sunday night we talked to one of the members that was on the sunday charter after us and the exact same thing happened though he took it a step further with them by picking up and moving because he heard a boat engine in the distance which turned out to be an AIRPLANE.....:eek:
 
Sunday I stayed over, was booked on the Island Current/ Bandit..... steamed off to Reef site 11 to find a small fleet of CM and Lewes Del. guys there..... slow picked a few togs and adjusted a few times on the tanks... but to no avail as it just wasnt good enough for the whole boat.... steamed back to the south and slow picked fish the rest of the day in water that was dirty with sand and coral pieces suspended in it... also again a hard south to north current made for difficult anchoring conditions with no wind and also made the temps on the bottom much colder ..... I totaled 3 keeps and 3 shorts for the day...my biggest around 7-8 lbs
 
Will keep an eye on the reports from Scotty and Jerry and will be back down there as things get better.......

would also like to say the hotel Sea Esta III was clean and well worth the price

Sounds like an interesting trip!  That 1st Captain needs to get his game together or call it quits.

Good you caught some fish, stinks it wasn't the all out tog fest!

Yea  that hotel wasn't bad.. I think I just got a bad set of sheets  ;D

Tom, that's too bad. Seems like sites 10 and 11 are getting too crowded for the locals.WTF

Feel sorry for Scotty with all the planning involved.

Screw them all I say. Fish local. Fishing been good for us at the usual winter spots for a few weeks now when the wind cooperates and we get out. Back at it tomorrow Jersey style.

 ??? Wow!! The things Scotty has to put up with to be able to fish. Can't we all just get along. That's an interesting letter from Scotty that Hotrod posted. Why is Capt J hiding his spots when all he is getting is dogfish.  ??? I fished with Scotty. He is a good Capt and will find the fish without having to trail the locals.  5hrug

Guys I was on the Karen Sue on Sun & my head is still spinning from my trip on Sun.

I needed a mental health Day from work yesterday.

I'm heading down there in a week. He has got to know people aren't going to deal with this forever and it's going to hurt business. I dont know about you...but my lips are chapped from kissing arse trying to keep my customers happy!  5hrug

If he pulls  nts we are going to  slt.

Could you imagine if Raritan Bay, The Rocks, Sea Girt Reef, ect.. was like that...hahaha HS
